Report on Icelandic Creative Industries released

 First of its kind to be published in Iceland, Skapandi greinar - Sýn til framtíðar maps the current status of Iceland’s creative industries and includes suggestions as per how the creative industries can be supported through legislation, government, finance and investments in education, research and innovation. 

A platform for future policymaking, the report suggests ie. added focus in master level education and research, increased funding to support the creative industries, taxing improvements and increased collaboration between the state management and the municipalities.

The report was ordered by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture; The Ministry of Welfare, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industries and Innovation, Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Promote Iceland in collaboration with the Association of Creative Industries in Iceland. 

A cross-disciplinary board with members from all of the four ministries as well as universities and creative industries will continue the work.
